Choral Evensong for All Saints, November 1 2016

We’re pleased to be able to offer to you our Choral Evensong for All Saints’ Day, and especially the Emmanuel choir singing Lux aeterna from John Rutter’s Requiem, at the 30:35 mark.

Any abnormalities in the audio were your humble podcaster’s attempt to silence some feedback and account for losing a mic early in the recording.

The Liturgy of the Table, Rhythm and Roots Sunday

img_4575It was a holy and joyful Sunday at Emmanuel on September 18th. With the sounds and smells of the annual Rhythm and Roots Festival going on outside, we celebrated a Holy Eucharist with bluegrass music from the local group the Rock Hall Ramblers, which features our Canon Kathy Dunagan. Kathy arranged and worked the music into the liturgy in a way that seamlessly lent itself as a natural response to God.

Here is part two of the Sunday’s liturgy, the Liturgy of the Table, and a rundown of the service music:

0.00 – Offertory Anthem, That Rock Where Moses Stood
8.48 – Communion Hymn, Down to the River to Pray
12.47 – Communion Hymn, Angel Band
19.12 – Recessional, I’m Gonna Live Forever
24.04 – Postlude, I’ll Fly Away
